July 17, 2018 marked the media trade launch of “AJA AJA TAYO!” at Johnny B. Good Cafe in Glorietta 3, Makati City.
“AJA AJA TAYO” is the first Filipino-Korean variety game show held in Philippine television, jointly produced by ShowBT Korea, ShowBT Philippines, and its dynamic Korean-Filipino team.
The show aims to showcase the fun, dynamic fusion of Korean-Pinoy pop culture through the creation of fresh and exciting game entertainment from the dynamic collaboration of its Filipino-Korean team.
Its game show format will surely excite K-pop fanatics, Korean culture lovers and game show enthusiasts. Hosted by game ambassador charmer Paul Kim and the multi-talented KA Antonio, the variety game show will feature two teams that will compete each other in a series of 6 games; one cycle consists of 6 games. The two teams are composed of the Blue Team, led by team captain radio personality-host Mr. Fu and the Red Team whose team captain is former model/ actress Wilma Doesnt.
The launch event formally introduced the producers and cast of “AJA AJA TAYO” led by Mr. Charles Kim (CEO of ShowBT Philippines Corp.) Mr. Robin Geong (CEO of ShowBT Korea) and the cast members.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Charles Kim. (CEO of ShowBT Philippines Corp.), shared that he was able to adapt fully well to both Korean and Filipino cultures since he has been staying the Philippines for the past 20 years. He believes that “it is the best time for us Filipinos and Koreans to transform and collaborate our cultures for the best.”
Some of the main highlights of the event showcased the “AJA SONG” and the “AJA DANCE” – a dance which was joyfully performed by SB19 to the media and other attendees.
Another performance that thrilled the media invitees is BNF is an all-boy Korean idol group composed of Habin, Daewon and Harang. They sang 5 songs including their latest single, (Kkotnipidwaeyo). The group heavily promoted the show at their mall performances in Manila, Dagupan, radio shows and video features online. The group is being managed by Show Entertainment, ShowBT group of companies’ entertainment agency.
AJA AJA TAYO! Female host STEENA KOO gave her own rendition of the song “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako” by KZ Tandingan, followed by theater actress and SB19’s coach Adelaide Hong, who performed a very soulful version of “You Are My Everything” by Gummy. SB19 also performed two songs from their upcoming mini album “LG (Love Goes)” and “Tilaluha.”
A mini game called “Bahala si Robin” was staged. Mr. Robin Geong picked out fans to play the which literally depended on Mr. Geong’s decisions. Winners received a signed CD and fan merchandise from BNF.
During the Q&A from the press, Red Team captain Wilma Doesnt was asked how it was to go head to head with Mr. Fu. Miss Doesnt commented that “it was exciting and that being in the show with him and it was a new experience to play Filipino and Korean games.”
Mr.Geong was asked his opinion on the Philippine entertainment industry and what can we expect from him. The ShowBT Korea top executive replied that he loves the Philippines so dearly and he sees a bright future for the [entertainment] industry. He further disclosed that “We are already having meetings about season 2 where we will let the players explore different parts of the country [Philippines] so that it will feel different from season 1’s studio shootings.”
The formal event ended with a celebratory toast lead by Mr. Robin Geong, with him chanting “HANGGANG MAMATAY.”
