Davao’s Halloween party scene will not be complete with The Royal Mandaya Hotel’s annual spooky costume party and this year was no different.
It’s spookier than usual with more fangs into it.
That’s how TRMH’s Halloween event went this year at the Royal Ballroom on Friday, October 26, and as expected the city’s made-up ghouls, ghosts and Superheroes came in droves dressed in their boo-hoo best.
With hosts comedians Chabz and Eduana Diva and soundtracks from Davao’s revered spinman DJ Torch and back up hypeman DJ Bryle, this year’s party rolled out with contestants of all ages rocking the runway.
This year’s winners were 4-year old Lhea Clarisse Trinidad in her Fairy attire that won for her the Best Halloween Cosplay 2018 (Kids Category, 12 years old and below) and 13-year old Charice Villarta who took the Best Halloween Cosplay 2018 (Adult Category, 13 years old and above) top prize.
In the exciting Ms. Q and A Fangtastic 2018 contest, John Rey Rabat a.k.a. Nanay Sitang won the coveted crown besting first runner-up Renante Petron a.k.a. Merry Mercedes Marchesa, Ryan Maambong a.k.a. Maja Salvador, Roy Payagan a.k.a. Rhean Joy Payagan, and Edmar Petron a.k.a. Arilla Arida.
Tasked with judging the winners were Randy Angelo Ramos (Mister Philippines Grand Finalist 2016), Benjamin Lady Bam Petilos (Ms. Queen Size 2018), and journalist Maya Padillo (Business World). The event was backed up by sponsors TanduayDistillers, Inc., and Forth & Tay with Mobile Bar Sponsors Cocktails & Dreams, Mixed Temptation, and Rock Bottom Mobile Bar.
