Kapuso heartthrob and sought-after leading man Ruru Madrid looks forward to a bright music career as he inked a recording contract with GMA Music last July 10.
Present in the contract signing ceremony were GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Vic del Rosario, GMA Music Managing Director Rene Salta, and GMA Music A&R Manager Kedy Sanchez.
Aside from acting, singing also remains close to Ruru’s heart. Growing up in a family of musicians, it is no doubt he was influenced by his father in singing.
“I am very happy. Ever since I started in show business, naging pangarap ko talaga magkaroon ng kanta. This is my first love and nakakataba ng puso na ngayon, magkakaroon na ako ng sariling mga kanta,” he shared.
The Sunday PinaSaya mainstay will soon launch two singles under the label – ‘Nawawala’ composed by Kettle Mata, Roger Alcantara, and Enzo Villegas and ‘Maghihintay’ composed by Mark Atienza.
The GMA Artist Center star also confessed that he got emotional while recording the two songs as they mirror tough times in one’s life.
“Ngayon, alam ko na ang gusto ng mga Pinoy, ‘yung mga may hugot na kanta dahil mararamdaman mo talaga ‘yung emosyon. Parehong may hugot ang dalawang kantang ilalabas ko at habang kinakanta ko sila, naiiyak ako.”
Meanwhile, GMA Music Managing Director Rene Salta has nothing but praises for the Kapuso actor, “Malaki ang potensyal ni Ruru na maging kilalang singer that’s why we are proud to welcome him in the GMA Music family. Bagay na bagay ‘yung boses niya sa musika ng kaniyang henerasyon.”
