CTTMO bares Undas traffic re-route plan

The City Transportation & Traffic Management Office has released its re-routing scheme and parking scheme as a part of the office’ Oplan Kaluluwa preparation.

The CTTMO is also set to release traffic advisories and to place signages in strategic areas to give motorist and pedestrians an early notice regarding the re-routing scheme during November One and Two.

The CTTMo will start to deploy 100 personnel on the 30th of October, 150 personnel on the 31st and 300 personnel on November one and two.

“ We know that there will be a number of people who would visit the cemetery and start cleaning (the resting place of their loved ones) so we will deploy our troops early, on 30, 31 until one and two after which if there are still a lot of people coming until November 3 then we will extend our deployment,” said Supt. Dioniso Abude, officer-in-charge of the CTTMO during the AFP-PNP Southern Mindanao press briefing on October 25, Wednesday.

This will be the Davao Memorial Park Re-Routing scheme during peak hours. There will be no vehicular access coming from Corner Quimpo Boulevard – Mc Arthur Highway going to Davao Memorial Park. No entry sign will be installed. Vehicles have the option to take Quimpo Boulevard left turn to Calamansi St. or University Avenue to exit only at Durian St and proceed left to Davao Memorial Park.

In case of heavy volume of vehicles going south, CTTMO will implement counter-flow from McArthur Highway Corner Tulip Drive up to Mc Arthur corner Quimpo Boulevard. No left turn for   all vehicles coming from Santos-Cuyugan Road instead use Quimpo Boulevard. Vendors are not allowed near the entrance of Davao Memorial Park, there area will be across the entrance.

For San Pedro, Forest Lake, Orchard Memorial Park, Masonic, Wireless, Catholic Cemetery the following re-routing scheme should be observed. One way vehicular traffic from Selga St. corner F. Tores to Circumferential Road (Seranas St.) corner Jade Street. Vehicles going to San Pedro Memorial or Forest lake may take Jade St then turn left to Turquoise Street. There will be regulated no entry from Fr. Selga Street Circumferential Road going to Catholic Cemetery. All Vehickes going to Forest Lake Cemetery may use San Rafael Street (Gold Street), Silver Street – Copper Street. Parking is not allowed fronting the vicinity of all cemeteries along Circumferential Road.

“we encourage those people who will visit Forest lake that they should use the San Rafael Village Route, the Copper and Gold street. We also have coordination with Davao Memorial Management that we should allocate more area for pedestrian way so that people won’t be an obstruction for vehicles who will be foing in and out of the cemetery,” said Abude.

For Chinese Cemetery the following re-routing scheme should be observed. One way traffic along Serenas Road from corner Gahol St to coner Bacaca Road. No parking at the vicinity of the Chinese Cemetery (CircumferentialRoad). All vehicles going to Chinese Cemetery coming from Bacaca Road may utilize J.P Laurel Avenue right turn to Gahol Street and right turn to Sarenas Street.

For Buhangin Memorial Park re-routing scheme should be observed. One way vehicular traffic along the stretch of Cabatian road from Buhangin Milan to corner Mamay Road. No entry along Cabantian –Jehova Road toward Buhangin Memorial Park, instead vehicles mayutilize Mamay Extension right turn to C.P Gacia highway, right turn to Buhangin Road. No parking fronting the vicinity of Buhangin Memorial Park along Cabantian Road. Hauler Trucks will be prohibited in Buhangin- Cabantian Road, vehicles may utilize C.P Garcia Highway- Cabantian Road.

There will be force multiplier coming from Traffic Community Network (TRAFCON). They will augment the needed number of personnel by the CTTMO.
