Davao City’s multi-awarded artist, Elenita “Boots” C. Dumlao, will stage a four weeks visual arts exhibition at the Museo Dabawenyo starting February 19.
The City Information Office reported that the exhibit dubbed as “Colors and Textures,” will run from until March 17, in time for the 81st Arawng Dabaw Celebration.
The exhibit will open at 3:30 p.m. on February 19 at the Bahaghari Space or the changing exhibitions gallery of the museum.
This will be Dumlao’s sixth solo exhibit at the Museo Dabawenyo. In 2017, her “Complexed Simplicities” exhibit was also staged at the museum, a year after her “Sentient Textures.”
Dumlao is a Davao-based visual artist and a theater, music and dance production director. She is known for her contemporary acrylic paintings involving expressionism.
In 2013, she was presented an award for Exemplary Contribution on the Field of Visual Arts by then Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Vice Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.
She also had honors abroad, including an award for bagging the first place for the Digital New Media Art competition at the X International Exhibition of Women Painters held in Majdanpek, Serbia.
She was the only Asian among more than 250 women painters who joined the Serbia tilt.
