2 Indons nabbed for illegal entry

Two Indonesian citizens illegally entered the country through a motorized boat at around 6:26 in the morning of July 7, Saturday.

The personnel of Saranggani Municipal Police Station, Davao Occidental provincial police office together with Eduard T Europa, immigration staff of the Philippines apprehend Josapath M Layang 49, Indonesian national, Christian Pastor and Elmer L Macodompis, 29, Alliance in Religion, Indonesian national and fisherman at Sitio Patua, Brgy Batuganding, Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

The boat used was owned by one Teresa Marie L. Basilan. The boat was intercepted sailing from Marori Island, Indonesia and to Sitio Patua.

PCI. Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of Police Regional  Office (PRO) 11 told Edge that they are appealing to the pubic specially to all communities near the coastal areas or sea lines to report and or inform the barangay and Philippine National Police in particular if an unknown vessel or foreign national enters their area for profiling and verifications of their documents and personalities.

“Community has also a great part in public safety and let us help the Authorities dealing with peace and order,” Driz said.

She said these communities are vulnerable to entrants of foreign vessels or persons within the region.

Investigation revealed that both Indonesians lacked proper documents.

They are now in temporary custody of Sarangani MPS and will be escorted to the immigration office in Davao City for proper disposition.
