Operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) have seized around P720,000 worth of Cannabis sativa or marijuana from a 34-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Davao del Sur on Sunday night.
The suspect identified Joynel Udaquin Solmero, a resident of Purok 6, Sugbong, Barangay San Isidro, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur who is considered as big time marijuana pusher in the area.
Agents from the Davao del Sur Provincial Office and Davao Occidental Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI and Hagonoy Municipal Police Station conducted buy-bust operation last October 28, 2018, at around 8:40 P.M., at Purok 6, Sugbong, Barangay San Isidro, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.
PDEA 11 report bared Solmero was arrested for selling a roll of suspected marijuana wrapped in a newspaper weighing about 200 grams worth P1,000 to a PDEA Agent who acted as poseur buyer around 8:00 p.m. near his residence.
The suspect later give up three big rolls of suspected marijuana weighing around 6000 with a street value of P720,000, a .38 revolver loaded with ammunition and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Solmero will be facing cases for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 o the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The suspect is now detained at the PDEA 11 detention facility inside Camp Captain Domingo Leonor here in Davao City.
