Digital disruption in the field of business should be embraced as part of an industrial growth to cope up with the fast pace technology, a solutions company said.
IT Group Inc. (ITG) Managing Director VJ Africa said that digital disruptions in businesses are essential to achieve the necessary growth of investments.
“If you’re of change, you will be left behind because of how the industry is changing so rapidly,” Africa said on Thursday during the Embracing Disruption: Technology Fiesta Event at the Seda Abreeza Hotel.
Techtarget.com defines digital disruption as an occurring change when new digital technologies and business models affect the value proposition of existing goods and services.
According to 2017 survey conducted by TIBCO, a business intelligence and analytics company, 79% of the chief executive officers (CEOs) around the world think that digital disruption is already in motion while 40% are considering a digital-first approach.
TIBCO Marketing Director Alan Ho said that that these digital disruptions had brought five times revenue growth, while operation multiplied eight times and twice in shareholder growth returns.
Ho also cited business that gear towards digital excellence attain optimized operations, compelling customer experience and an innovation in digital products.
He also pointed out that data-driven companies are 5% more productive and 6% more profitable.
“Data analysis is no longer a nice option”, Ho said.
He added, “Data is useless if it is not converted into actionable insights.”
