Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio brushed off speculations and rumors that she would still run for the Senate through a substitution.
“Di ako magpapa-sub (There will be no substitution to happen),” she said in an interview after she filed her certificate of candidacy for city mayor Monday afternoon.
The lady mayor said her decision will not change even if the calls for her to run for senator intensifies and her position will further improve in the next surveys on the 12 top senatoriables.
She filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor around 4:10p.m. of Monday, accompanied by her husband, Atty. Manases Carpio at the Commission on Election office inside the Ramon Magsaysay Park in Davao City
The mayor said she filed earlier along with other local bets under the Hugpong Coalition so that they could immediately fix problems in their CoCs, if any.
During her state of the city address earlier, Inday Sara she is seeking re-election as she wants to complete big ticket infrastructure projects in the city.
One of the big projects is the construction of the Samal Bridge.
The mayor said three areas in the city are being studied where the bridge will be built connecting to the Island Garden City of Samal.
Duterte said there is also Sandawa bridge to be built across the Davao River .Other big projects to be built are the bypass road and coastal road now being started.
