Ordinance on Christmas tree donation still hangs

A proposed ordinance authorizing the City Mayor to sign a deed of donation and memorandum of agreement between Yatai International Corporation and the City Government of Davao covering a Christmas tree donation has been scheduled for  third and final reading next week Tuesday.

The City Councilors regular session on Tuesday, October 16 was adjourned due the absence of majority of the councilors.

Only 13 councilors were present during the roll call.

The item 1384 is under the committee on rules, privileges, laws and ordinances of Councilor Melchor Quitain Jr., which states the donation includes a steel frame and base, flatbar steel balls, strip lights, LED bulbs, Rubber sockets, and a lighted panaflex signage.

Under the Ordinance, “in setting up the Christmas tree, the first party upon consultation with and consent of the second party, may work with or engage the services of the other parties, whether individuals or corporations, which may aid in the promotion or showcasing local talents.”

The deed of donation shall be subject to the terms and conditions of the MOA.
