DAVAO CITY — Six people were killed in a road accident involving a public utility bus and a tricycle in a highway in Digos City, Davao del Sur on Wednesday morning.
The Digos City Police Station identified bus driver as Fermin C. Macalos of Mindanao Star, a resident of Makilala, North Cotabato while the killed victims Joel Castro Jr., 32, driver and the passengers are Floro Ocdenaria, 57, Honey Grace Castro, 27, Cyril Jake Castro, 7, Joana Claive Castro,4 and alias Pedo, 2 all residents of Sta. Cruz.
Police report bared the accident happened at Davao- Cotabato road when the tricycle head bus were colliding around 6:00 a.m.
The bus was going to Digos City Sattelite Terminal when the tricycle heading to Sta.Cruz town, collided to the bus which caused the death of the tricycle driver and its passengers.
Victims were immediately rushed to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital but were declared dead on arrival by their attending physician.
Macalos is now detained in the police station while the victims were brought to Good Life Funeral Homes in the said city.
