The provincial government of Compostela Valley is elated for having been ranked second in the Philippines in the list of provinces having the highest number of assets as released by Commission on Audit (COA).
Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy said in a statement, it is an unexpected on their part that the province will rank second, next to Cebu with a total Php 18.95 billion worth of accumulated assets.
“I am extremely delighted about the news. This recognition speaks volume of the efficiency of the Provincial Government in keeping its resources; resources that will be used to deliver social services and finish infrastructures swiftly and efficiently,” he said
Uy said this means that the province improved its capacities to respond to the demands of their constituency.
“While this recognition may not be everything but strong fundamentals such as high assets will help us in our desire to fully develop our province,” he said.
He said aside from the COA ranking, the province is also hailed as the second most competitive province in Davao Region.
“I am very pleased with this distinction. This cements our place as a viable business and investmentdestination in Mindanao,” he said..
Uy said their province is doing well because of its highly competent government workforce, strong willed political leaders and a collaborative private sector.
“It is our collective efforts that propelled us to the top,” he said.
“With an improving peace and order situation, strong public-private collaboration and a change of name to Davao de Oro next year, I am certain that this is only the beginning. There is more to come,” Uy added.
