Phil. Army’s 10th ID focused on activities

The 10th Infantry Division (ID) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continues to improve its focused military operations despite the developing peace in its area of responsibility (AOR).

This was bared by 10th ID spokesperson Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao on Wednesday’s AFP- PNP Press Corps media briefing held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

Agila Division’s tight implementation of peace in its AOR which covers the entire Davao Region, North Cotabato, Saranggani Province and South Cotabato has led the yielding of 60 New People’s Army (NPA) regulars, 42 Militia ng Bayan (MB) members, and 21 Sangay sa Partido Lokalidad (SPL).

Lamosao said the continuous focused military operations have prevented atrocities initiated by terrorists that involve recruitments, bombing activities and intentional burning (arson) of military equipment and religious places of worship, thus, the strengthening of this military activity will maintain a threat-free community.

He also said that they continue to monitor and identify enemy camps.

Lamosao, however, urged active rebels to return to the mainstream community as the government will provide a new life through its settlement project for ex-rebels.

This settlement project is highlighted by the recently-launched National Housing Authority (NHA) Freedom Residences, a housing project for surrenderees nestled at Barangay Cuambogan, Tagum City in Davao del Norte.

“Including din dyan yung livelihood and other training programs na makakatulong sa kanila sa pagbabalik nila sa mainstream community,” Lamosao said.

Apart from that, the AFP also began its immersion in different sitios and barangays in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) agencies.

“Kasali dito yung facilitating programs ng government, security assistance and medical missions,” he said.

In related development, the 10th ID recovered 21 high power firearms (HPFA), and 13 low power fire arms (LPFA).
