“Mahirap maghanap ng kahalili ni Colonel Tagum,” Morales said during the AFP-PNP PressCorps media briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel yesterday.

“But incase natalagang dumating yung punto na kailangan naman umangat ni colonel Tagum forhis career and personal advancement, we are ready to look for hisreplacement,” the regional director said, rating Tagum as”veryexcellent and was able to rise up to the challenge.”

Morales said they arecurrently on the process of shortlisting the candidates that would possiblyreplace the outgoing DCPO director.

“As of now,tuloy-tuloy parin ang aming processing sa mga lists of candidates at gustonamin na kung di man mapantayan eh, malampasan yung ginawa ni Colonel Tagumdito sa Davao City.”

Although the finaldecision will come from Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Morales said theywill consider the candidate’s personal experience, training, education, workattitude, background and capability to lead the office.

Morales added the postis open to all qualified candidates nationwide but being a Dabawenyo is plusfactor.

“Nationwidenaghahanap but preferably dapat may background siya sa Mindanao at na assign nasiya sa Davao,”

“Yung nag handlena din siya ng position of high responsibilities like naging provincialdirector (PD) siya before o may training na din siya that can proudly addressor manage situations and challenges dito sa Davao City,” Morales added.

Tagum, in a separateinterview, said his term will officially end after the election period.

“(My term willend) until the end of the election period. It now depends kay Mayor kung ano naang next plan sa akin,” he said.

Tagum’s two-year termsupposedly ended in April but was extended due to several events staged in Davao City.
