SM Mall’s enduring marketing slogan “We’ve Got It All For You!” will finally be realized in Caraga Region and Region 9 as SM Supermalls is set to open its branches in Butuan City and Zamboanga City second quarter of next year.

Grace Fornier-Magno, SM Supermalls vice president for advertising in an interview said Butuan City and Zamboanga City are opportunity areas for SM. She said the planned SM mall in Butuan will be a three-storey building while four levels in Zamboanga City.

“We are not present yet in the Caraga and also in the Zamboanga Peninsula. We want to have an SM there para ma-complete na natin ang regions. In Butuan they can go all the way to Cagayan de Oro pero next year they don’t have to travel for four hours to go to CDO to go to an SM mall and Caraga as a region is also growing with Siargao. Butuan itself as a city in fairness is also growing,” Magno said.

The SM mall in Zamboanga City is through a partnership with the old Mindpro Citimall. With the said partnership, Mindpro Citimall is rebranded into SM City Mindpro Zamboanga, which will be the first SM Supermall in Zamboanga Peninsula.

Magno also said SM malls in Mindanao are among the good performing SM malls in the country. She said SM malls in Davao City and CDO are performing well in terms of sales and overall growth.

Currently, there are five SM malls in Mindanao namely SM City CDO, SM CDO Downtown Premier, SM City Davao, SM City General Santos, and SM Lanang Premier. According to Magno among the five malls, SM malls in Davao City are the drivers of the business.

“Maybe because of the investments coming in to Davao City. We are doing very well. Also next year there will be more fun for the family, madami kaming events na mangyayari and we will have local events for Davao festivals,” she said.
