PRO 11 pledges support to new PNP chief Gamboa

The Police Regional Office (PRO 11) has expressed its full support to the new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa who was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday night.

Duterte made the announcement of the appointment of Gamboa as full-fledged PNP chief from officer-in-charge in his speech during the thanksgiving gathering of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City.

PRO 11 regional director  Brig. Gen. Filmore Escobal said he assured the new PNP chief that PRO 11 will fully support his leadership and programs.

Escobal said PRO 11 is one with him in his commitment to intensify the campaign against criminality, illegal drugs and corruption, following the rule of law and with utmost respect for human rights.

“We have witnessed how Lt. Gen. Gamboa worked and we are confident that he will unite to work as one the  entire PNP community to bring the organization to greater heights,”  he said.

The President placed Gamboa as the new head of the PNP because he sees the sincerity of the official in his job.

Duterte previously assigned Gamboa as the PNP officer-in-charge after former police chief Oscar Albayalde resigned from his post in October 2019, weeks before his retirement.

Before his appointment as PNP OIC, Gamboa served as deputy chief for administration — the second-highest post in the police force.
