The 21-year-old female patient from Davao de Oro who tested negative in two of her recent tests for Covid-19 was discharged from the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) on Monday.
She was the first reported positive case of coronavirus in Davao Region.
“The patient at DRMC is already discharged. Good news kay naka- recover na siya,” said Dr. Annabelle Yumang, regional director of the Department of Health 11 (DOH 11) in a virtual press conference on Monday.
The patient was admitted at DRMC last March 10. She arrived last February 29 from the United Kingdom (UK) via Doha-Qatar-Manila flight.
On March 17, DRMC chief Dr. Bryan Dalid told media in a virtual press conference that the patient has improved and does not manifest symptoms of fever and cough anymore.
The patient also underwent second nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs to check whether traces of the virus still exists.
Among the criteria to discharge the patient is to get two negative results on nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs.
“Nag-negative na iyang test ug mao na to nga asymptomatic na siya,” Yumang said.
