The city government of Davao will test run QR code system to all plane passengers arriving and exiting at Davao International Airport (DIA) on October 7-11, 2020 and make the system mandatory beginning October 12, 2020.
The QR code system is part of the improvements that the city will undertake in addressing the influx of arrivals at DIA particularly that on September 21, 2020 flights where 40 passengers from Manila were tested positive of Covid-19 after undergoing Covid-19 testing being conducted at DIA.
“Duna ta’y QR code na implement dinha sa airplane passengers arriving at DIA. Kini siya will be test run on October 7 to 11, because kinahanglan nato makita kung unsa problema sa system and then after Oct. 11, beginning Oct. 12 mandatory na ang QR code for plane passengers na musulod ug mu exit sa Davao airport. Dali lang ni siya kay anad naman ang mga tao mag-online,” the mayor said.
Passengers must fill up form online, then show ID, boarding pass and RT PCR results. With said system, face to face interview is no longer required.
“Wala na’y face to face interview ug contactless na and atoang fronliners protected na sila. Mao na siya kinahanglan i-implement sa DIA sa arriving passengers,” she said.
The use of QR code system aims to accomplish accurate and efficient contact tracing.
“Gi-outsource na sa isa ka supplier para sa possible na mahimong program sa atong QR. Medyo nadugay ni siya kay gina-try nato sulbaron ang buhat ug lain laing QR code, sama sa isa ka tao daghan ang pangalan or hulamon ang QR code. Gina-solve nato na ang mga ingon ana nga problema,” she said.
