City to penalize establishments not complying with Safe DQR code

The city government of Davao will penalize establishments that failed to comply with the Safe Davao QR (DQR) code scanning.

Davao City Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said that the city has observed that some establishments are not strictly implementing the scanning of DQR among their clients upon entering and exiting from their premises.

“We are tasked to enforce this ordinance so I hope mu-follow gyud because we do not want to penalize these people of these establishments. But we are tasked to enforce this ordinance so kinsa man ang mu-violate, we are very sorry kay amo gyud i-follow ang mandate and i-enforce sa security,” Schlosser said.

In January this year, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio through Executive Order No. 02 required all establishments and offices in the city to implement the scanning of the DQR of all individuals entering their premises.

The DQR system is an electronic contact-tracing and travel pass platform for the city.

“This DQR is integrated sa atong expanded contract tracing. With this, naa man gud tay ubay-ubay nga mga positive individuals or COVID positive patients nga maka-sulod sa mga establishments. So, kini siya pasado napod nga ordinansa nga ma penalize ang business establishment for not implementing scanning out of individuals nga musulod sa ilang establishment,” Schlosser said.

The scanning of the DQR is part of the intensified contact tracing effort of the city government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Under the mandatory DQR implementation, non-compliant businesses will receive a written warning for the first offense. For the second offense, they will be fined P5,000 and/or their business operations suspended for 30 days from the date of violation while for the third offense, the business establishment will be fined P5,000 and its business permit will be canceled.
