Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo, president of Damosa Land Inc. (DLI) and chairman of this year’s Davao Investment Conference (Davao ICON 2021), confirmed the attendance of high caliber keynote speakers for the upcoming hybrid conference slated on November 11 to 12, 2021.
Expected attendees as keynote speakers include Ayala Corporation president and chief executive officer Fernando Zobel de Ayala; Cebu Landmasters Inc., chairman and president Jose Soberano III; Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat; Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation chief executive officer Tomas Lorenzo; National Economic and Development Authority Undersecretary Mercedita Sombilla; Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez; Aboitiz Equity Ventures president and chief executive officer Sabin Aboitiz; Manila Water Philippine Ventures head of technical operations Joe Costales; and Cargill Philippines managing director Sonny Catacutan.
“We will be having a lot of very high caliber keynote speakers and also roundtable discussions with a lot of foreign companies will have breakout sessions with our various sponsors. It would look and feel like a conference. The benefits that you would get from attending there will be several exhibits that would be available for customers to interact with various sponsors,” Lagdameo said.
The Davao ICON 2021 aims to bring potential buyers and investors together as well as industry experts to discuss and present Davao Region’s business opportunities to build a strong relationship.
“One thing that we were happy to agree on for this year is that Davao ICON, as you know, it is one of the most important conferences hosted by the Davao Chamber, with the last event being in 2019, pre-pandemic. Normally it’s a physical event but we are happy to say that it’s going to be a hybrid event this year,” Lagdameo said.
He added that it would not be just a Zoom event but will have events at various locations with the main conference would be held in a production studio.
“Everything that you would want to appreciate at a physical concept would still be there. It will be held in two days because we have that much content and those speakers that will be speaking at this event,” Lagdameo said.
