Homegrown retail chain NCCC will soon enter the franchising industry.
This was bared on Wednesday by Lafayette Lim, president and CEO of the NCCC Group of Companies.
“This is to allow aspiring business owners to benefit from the NCCC brand and technology. All in all, this makes faster growth in places where our stores are present,” Lim said during a virtual conference on Wednesday.
In 2019, NCCC acquired Victoria Plaza, Davao City’s very first mall. NCCC has partnered with DMCI Holdings, one of the country’s largest conglomerates, and envisions Victoria Plaza as a modern township that would serve not only as a commercial center but lifestyle access in Davao City.
“We would like to keep its rich history and at the same time transform it into a strategic economic hub right in the heart of Davao City. We already started this vision with the mall we have opened last 2018 in Buhangin. We envision all our malls to provide a new paradigm of customer lifestyle experience,” he said.
Lim said the vision is also true in its Ma-a site where the building of a new state-of-the-art mall and residential condominium has already started.
“This is the same vision we have for our Panacan project which we will still start developing soon. It would include Davao’s largest convention center and a hotel to strengthen Davao’s tourism industry,” he said.
Also in the pipeline is the construction of NCCC’s mega distribution center in Bunawan, which will include a dry and cold storage facility.
Founded in the year 1978, NCCC now has over 40 branches scattered across the Davao Region and in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. With its main branch situated along Ramon Magsaysay Avenue (formerly Uyanguren), Davao City.
The company operates in two formats: full supermarket and Choice Mart. As a retail company, it offers a wide range of items including food and non-food, dry goods, fresh produce, frozen goods, hardware items, gardening items, school items and others.
