Vaccination for pediatric group or children aged 12 to 17 years old can now be availed in barangays.
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, said on Friday that some barangays in Davao City are providing vaccination rollout for minors with or without comorbidities.
“As far as I know naa’y mga barangays naga offer na ug pediatric vaccination. Maskin pa ug dili mo muadto sa vaccination sites naay mga barangay leaders nato dira nga nagalibot sa inyong mga barangay para malista na ug mapabakunahan na ninyo ang inyong mga anak,” she said.
Schlosser also thanked the parents for their all-out support of the pediatric vaccination rollout.
“Ubay-ubay gyud dako among pasalamat sa mga parents nga nakasabot kung unsa aka importante ang bakuna. Because a lot of our kids, the fact na bata sila, dili sila ingon ana ka responsable when it comes to wearing of masks. Ang uban dili sila kasabot sa importansya of social distancing. Dili pud maayo ilahang practices of hand hygiene. It would really be best to have another layer of protection ang inyohang mga anak na 12-17 years old. Dapat gyud na magpabakuna na ta sa atong mga anak,” Schlosser said.
Pediatric vaccination sites (all open for walk-ins) are in GMall Toril, Mabini Elementary School, Calinan Elementary School, Matina Aplaya Elementary School, and F. Dizon Elementary School.
Schlosser also encouraged parents to jave their children 12 to 17 years old children vaccinated to help the city achieve herd immunity.
She reported that as of November 10, 2021, 71.76 percent of Dabawenyos or 932,848 were vaccinated with the first dose while 856,755 or 55.91 percent for the second dose.
