DCOTT resumes 24-hour operation

The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) will resume its 24-hour operation starting November 15, 2021 following the lifting of curfew hours in Davao City last month.

DCOTT manager Aisa Usop assured that the minimum health protocols such as wearing of face mask, hand washing, checking of temperature, and social distancing not only inside the terminal but even inside the bus will still be implemented in the resumption of the 24-hour operation.

“Basta ibalik na nato ang 24 oras nga operasyon sa terminal pero padayon gihapon ta sa pag implement sa minor health protocols nato diha sama sa paggamit ug face mask, hand wash, pagkuha temperature og labaw sa tanan ang social distancing dili lang diha sa sulod sa terminal kung dili pati sa sulod sa bus,” Usop said in a text message.

Usop added that routes are still the same but the number of trips depends on the number of passengers.

“Ang mga ruta nato same gihapon kay open naman daan but as to the number of trips dili pa ko makatubag kung pila ilang mapalarga kay basi mag-agad pud sila sa pasahero,” she said.

The resumption came after some bus operators requested for a 24-hour operation of buses to and from this city.

She said Bus trips to and from Davao City average 300 trips daily and before the pandemic bus trips during this season usually at 1,500 daily.

The major bus companies operating in the terminal are Mindanao Star, Davao Metro Shuttle, Bachelor Express, Yellow Bus Line, LCI Bus Line, ACF Bus Lines, and Holy Infant Tours.

Last month, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio lifted the curfew hours in Davao City from October 26, 2021, to January 15, 2022, through Executive Order (EO) No. 59 Series of 2021.
