Rejoining HNP to strengthen Sara’s alliance with Lakas-CMD

Vice Presidential aspirant Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has rejoined her regional party Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) and was sworn in as chairman in a ceremony officiated by Davao Occidential Governor Claude Bautista.

“Muli po akong nanumpa bilang chairman ng Hugpong ng Pagbabago, ang aking regional party,” Mayor Sara posted on her Facebook Page.

Mayor Sara now leads two strong parties, HNP and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), with whom she swear in as chairman on November 11, 2021, replacing Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

In a statement, HNP spokesperson Anthony del Rosario is optimistic that Mayor Sara’s role as concurrent chairperson of both HNP and Lakas-CMD will further strengthen the alliance between the two parties. An alliance that will promote a strong people-centered development throughout Davao Region and the Philippines.

Del Rosario stated that Mayor Sara’s re-appointment as chairperson became possible as both parties’ constitutions and By-Laws do not prohibit membership and appointment as an officer since HNP is a regional political party.

“On behalf of the officers and members of HNP throughout the Davao region, we welcome back our beloved Mayor Sara. Padayon ta sa paglupad!,” del Rosario said.

Following Mayor Sara’s oath-taking with HNP was the affirmation of oath made by the governors of Davao Region who are members of the HNP.
