The regional office of the Department of Health (DOH 11) reported that Davao Region has sustained a decreasing trend of confirmed Covid-19 cases.
Dr. Gerna Manatad, assistant regional director of DOH 11, said that as of April 12, 2022 there were only seven cases reported wherein five were from Davao City, one from Davao de Oro, and one from Davao del Sur.
In terms of the cumulative number of cases, there are a total of 132 wherein 57 were from Davao City, 35 from Davao de Oro, 19 from Davao del Norte, 13 from Davao del Sur, and eight from Davao Oriental.
DOH 11 also looked into the new cases as well as the number of deaths with the reclassification as to their vaccination status. According to Manatad from the 126 total number of cases, 87 were unvaccinated and only 39 had their vaccine doses.
“For the total number of deaths we have 20 and 19 of them have not received their vaccine doses or unvaccinated,” she said.
Based on the Regional Situation Update on Covid-19 in Davao Region as of April 11, 2022 DOH 11 showed the healthcare utilization of regional hospital capacity was at 28.2% non-ICU bed use and 31.7% ICU bed use.
Only 30 of 437 of COVID-19 admissions are severe and critical. Out of the 30, only 11 (2.52% of the total admissions) are confirmed cases, while 19 are probable and suspects.
There were 3,037,390 individuals or 69.1% of the target population in the Davao Region are fully vaccinated.
DOH 11 reminded the public to continue practicing minimum public health standards: wear a mask and stay in well-ventilated areas. The Covid-19 vaccination efforts are also continuing throughout the region.
