DCPO gearing up for the Lenten Season

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is now gearing up for the start of the busy Lenten Season.

Major Maria Teresita Gaspan, spokesperson of DCPO, said DCPO will be deploying police personnel in the areas where there will be conduct of the traditional religious practices like the Via Crusis (Stations of the Cross) and Visita Iglesia (Church Visits).

“Allowed naman ang Via Crusis during Lenten Season kay under Alert Level 1 na ta, allowed na 100 percent indoor and outdoor activities. Aduna kita i-deploy na kapulisan tanan na activity. Naa tay nakalatag na mga pulis. Gibuhusan nato na tanan ug police personnel,” Gaspan said during the AFP-PNP Media Briefing on Wednesday.

Gaspan said DCPO will be assisted by Task Force Davao, police auxiliary, and other partners in the security sector in implementing the safety measures throughout the Holy Week.

“Isa lang ang entry point nila and they will undergo inspection during sa pagsulod sa simbahan and tanan giawhag namo na mag-cooperate sa mga ginahimo sa kapulisan especially during the mga activities. Magmatngon usab kay uso man ang kawat kawat. We will activate ang monitoring action center para mulihok tanan during sa Holy Week,” Gaspan said.

Gaspan also reminded the public that the wearing of face masks is still being enforced.
