Governor-elect Emmylou ‘Lala’ Taliño-Mendoza has regained the gubernatorial seat in the Province of Cotabato, defeating incumbent governor Nancy Catamco, a former three-term representative of the province’s second district.
“You have spoken. Let your voice prevail. Together we will build a better Cotabato. Salamat sa inyong gugma ug pagsalig. Halungan ko kini ug suklian sa usa ka “Serbisyong Totoo.” Dungan ta sa pagkab-ot sa atong kalambuan,” Mendoza said in her message after the proclamation.
Mendoza vowed to sustain the gains of her advocacy program “Serbisyong Totoo”.
Among her priorities once she assumed office is the institutionalization and amendment of the expansion of support and assistance for the senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and retired police and military of the Province of Cotabato.
Mendoza is a supporter of the UniTeam of president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr and vice president-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio. The UniTeam staged its grand rally in the Municipality of Carmen, Province of Cotabato.
“No less than the president-elect came to visit Carmen, where the UniTeam grand rally was staged, naukay gyud ang tibuok probinsiya pero syempre malipay kita kay excited mo tanan na mapakita ang suporta nako gyud. Ang hardwork nato indeed nag-pay off. Ang atong panalangin ay maayo ang tuig sa administrasyong Marcos and Duterte,” she said.
Mendoza’s daughter Samantha Santos, who is a first-timer, was also elected Congresswoman for the Third District of the Province of Cotabato.
“Ako po ay buong-buong nagpapasalamat sa inyong tiwala. Alam ko na first timer si Samantha pero binigyan nyo ng napakalaking oportunidad para ipakita ang galing ng kabataan and para marinig ng kongreso ang boses ng bawat sector dito sa ikatlong distrito ng Cotabato,” she said.
Mendoza’s father, Rogelio Talino, was also elected as mayor of the Municipality of Carmen, Province of Cotabato while her husband Raymond Democrito Mendoza was also seeking reelection as representative for TUCP Partylist.
