The highly anticipated “Indak-indak sa Kadayawan” and the 37th Kadayawan sa Davao Festival’s event highlight offered PHP1 million prize for each champion in various categories.
In a statement Saturday, Kadayawan Executive Committee (Execom) chair Al Ryan Alejandre said the first place in the school-based and open category will receive PHP1 million each while the second place will receive PHP500,000 each, third place (PHP400,000), fourth place (PHP300,000), fifth (PHP 200,000), and the consolation prizes are PHP20,000.
Since the pandemic in 2020, the city will now conduct the Kadayawan Festival face-to-face.
Alejandre said the “Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan” participants are growing as 17 contingents have already signified – seven from the Davao-Based Category and 10 from the open category.
“Actually July 29 is the deadline for the submission of entries for the Indak-indak, but I am appealing to the organizer if they can extend the deadline because there are still many who want to join,” Alejandre said, adding that it might be extended to the first week of August.
Meanwhile, Alejandre said all participants must present a health declaration form.
“A negative RT-PCR test result or vaccination card is not (necessarily) required of the participants,” he added.
He said once they manifest symptoms [Covid-19] in their places of origin, they cannot come to Davao.
“The Execom required the City Health Office (CHO) to deploy its staff in the billeting areas. Each billeting area will have an isolation room that will be prepared in case some contestants will manifest symptoms,” Alejandre added.
He said they are in close partnership with CHO to come up with guidelines in case a situation arises.(PNA)
