28 firms from India, Israel to join B2B for DATE 2022

Companies from India and Israel will be taking part in the business matching (B2B) activity during this year’s 24th Davao Agri Trade Expo (DATE 2022), which will commence today (Sept. 29) at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.

Cherylyn Casuga, committee chair for DATE organized by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCII), said there are 28 companies, which compose the delegations of the Israel Economic and Commercial Mission to the Philippines and the Embassy of India.

The B2B will be joined by the Bureau of Investments (Bo) and the DCCCII. These companies are in the dairy, and aquaculture (for tilapia production) industries.

Casuga said the biggest supplier in milk from India will be looking for partners in Davao City for it’s distribution in the Philippines.

DATE 2022 will also showcase the solutions and the innovations specially those that are impacting agriculture such as climate change, high cost of imports that would be applicable in Davao City and the Davao Region.

“This is very exciting. Tomorrow is the day and we will be having the two -day Date. We will be focusing on hogs, poultry, high value crops, and livestock,” Casuga said during the AFP PNP Press Corps media briefing on Wednesday at The Royal Mandaya Hotel (TRMH).

Around 85 exhibitors from different industries in the agribusiness will be participating in the said activity, which will highlighted also with seminars, conferences, and technical demonstrations.

This year’s DATE aims to encourage local agri entrepreneurs to adopt new farming techniques and technologies to increase farm productivity, ensure sustainability, and become more competitive in the global market.

DATE 2022 will have the theme “Innovative Agribusiness: Achieving Productivity and Sustainability for Food Security.”
