Honorary Consul of Israel in Mindanao Jorge N. Marquez visited the Collection District 12 (Davao, Dadiangas, Parang, and Mati) and discussed the clearance for an upcoming donation of farming tools for beneficiaries in the region.
District Collector Erastus Sandino B. Austria assured the consul that District XII shall guide the consulate on the customs clearance of Israel’s agricultural donations.
The donations will help introduce mainstream Israeli farming and hydroponics technology to local farmers, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s thrust to ensure food security. These tools will enable farmers to double their yields while using fewer pesticides, less water, and less land to produce crops.
District XII also ensures the expedited release of essential goods as instructed by Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz.
The coordination meeting was held last January 13 at the BOC Davao.
