OVP eyeing to open 2 more satellite offices this year

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) is looking at opening two additional satellite offices this year.

Lawyer Reynold Munsayac, spokesperson of Vice President Sara Duterte, said on Friday that currently, there are seven OVP satellite offices nationwide.

“This year may naka plano na dalawang satellite offices at sa mga susunod na taon baka mas dumami pa yan,” he said over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Friday.

The satellite offices are strategically located and according to him, anyone can come and ask for assistance.

“Isa ang satellite office sa Davao City ng OVP na napakaraming tutulungan na kababayan dito sa Davao City at sa kalapit na Regions 10, 11 hanggang Bukidnon pati BARMM dito sila lumalapit sa satellite office ng Office of the Vice President,” he said.

The OVP satellite offices cater to medical and burial assistance, libreng sakay, rice box (Food boxes), Davao SO relief assistance, MAIP (Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients), AICS (Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situation), and other programs.

Meanwhile, the OVP- Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC) distributed a total of 1,052 relief boxes to earthquake-stricken towns of Davao de Oro on Thursday.

The relief boxes were distributed to residents of Maragusan and New Bataan, which were heavily affected by the March 7 earthquake.

New Bataan was the epicenter of the 6.2 and 5.9 magnitude quakes that caused landslides and damage to properties.
