Longer road closures for this year’s Indak Indak

The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) will be implementing longer road closures in time for this year’s Indak Indak sa Kadayawan, which is among the major activities for the 38th Kadayawan sa Davao.

This is due to the City Tourism Operations Office’s (CTOO’s) adjustment of the event time of Indak Indak in the afternoon instead of in the morning.
For many years, Indak-Indak was usually staged in the morning, however, this year the CTOO opted to stage it from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Dionisio Abude, chief of CTTMO, said during Wednesdays media forum at Habi at Kape in Abreeza Mall that road closures will start in the early morning of August 19, 2023.

“Ang atong preparation sa closure is starting sa kadlawon. So murag magka problema ang atong kalsada gikan sa Roxas Ave, C.M. Recto, Bonifacio, Pelayo, San Pedro, all the way to San Pedro Square. Dili pud puwede nga i-open nato on the morning kay mag problema na pud ta. So ang road closure medyo dugay dugay,” Abude said.
He said two weeks ago, CTTMO already sent notices to all the establishments regarding the road closures on August 19.

“Ipahibalo sa mga establishments nga up to 8 p.m. ang closure nato for Indak Indak,” he said.

He said for the Pamulak ug Hudyaka sa Kadayawan on Aug. 20, the same roads will be closed.
