The Land Transportation and Regulatory Board 11 (LTFRB 11) bared on Thursday that the city government of Davao is working on the release of Social Development Package (SDP) for those who will be affected by the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project.
LTFRB 11 regional director Nonito ‘Dondon” Llanos III said the SDP focuses on people directly and indirectly associated with the PUV sector who will have their livelihoods affected by the said project particularly the High Priority Bus System (HPBS) project.
The Project Affected People (PAP) can be categorized into five main cohorts including PUV operators, PUV operator drivers, PUV drivers, allied workers who provide direct support services to the PUV sector and applicant beneficiaries who represent eligible members of the main applicant’s household or relatives.
“Gina prepare na sa city government of Davao ng Social Development Package (SDP) and on the process of finalizing kung pila ang mahatag sa affected drivers. Gina-finalize ang package and eventually through the leadership of Davao City administrator lawyer Dwight Domingo. Mahibaw-an nato anytime soon because we are not privy to how much is the amount ang mahatag sa mga drivers,” Llanos said over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR).
The Davao City PUV sector is currently regulated by policies and programs from numerous different agencies. Main agencies include the LTFRB 11 and the Davao City Transport and the Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) as well as the city government of Davao, DOTr, and the HPBS PMO form the basis of the SDP regulatory environment, in which the SDP implementation team will be operating in.
LTFRB 11 hosted the steering committee meeting last Thursday, where various other agencies including the Land Transportation Office-Davao (LTO-Davao), Technical Education Skills and Development Authority 11 (TESDA 11), LTFRB and the city government of Davao and the Department of Transportation (DoTR) met to discuss and ironed out the contents of the driver’s training in preparation of the implementation of the said project.
“Para mapanday ug ma plantsa ug unsa ang mga unod sa driver’s training kay katong nahitabo more on simulation exposure to modernize buses. Karon napanday na gyud ug naa nay guidance kung kinsa ang mu-handle sa ug unsa nga mga module ang i-discuss sa driver’s training. Ang driver’s training naka focus ang meeting kay naa nay na create na mga modules for this matter part of which is LTFRB’s module naa tay gipasulod na upat ka modules para maapil sa driver’s training,” Llanos said.
