The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) announced on Thursday that 8 to 10 buses from private transport operator Bachelor Express Inc. will be added to the Peak Hours Augmentation Bus System (PHABS) program in Davao City.
CTTMO head Dionisio Abude said two to five bus units will serve the routes from Bangkal via Ecoland to Roxas Avenue.
“Nganong 2 to 5 buses? Because depende sa mga stranded na pasahero ug monitoring sa mga inspectors nato kay naa man ta’y papirmahan sa ilaha kung tinuod ba gyud sila nga nagbiyahe,” Abude said during the I-Speak media forum at City Hall on Thursday.
He said during peak hours two to five buses will also cater the NHA Bangkal – Roxas Ave. via Ecoland routes.
The existing routes are Mintal, Catalunan Pequeno, and Sto. Nino is being catered by Metro Shuttle Bus while Annil Transport Service makes regular trips for Calinan.
“Pero dili gihapon makaya mao nang naa tay augmentation bus nga 8 ka units depende gihapon sa pasahero,” Abude said.
The management of Golden Valley Bus Line Corporation committed to dispatching four to six bus units from Ateneo de Davao University/C.M. Recto-Gmall Bajada-Panacan-Sasa and Buhangin-Pacanan.
The Land Car Incorporated (LCI) is deploying two to four bus units in Toril.
“In fact, nagcommit pud sila nga mu -cater sila ug Mandug,” Abude said.
Abude also reminded commuters of the ‘Libreng Sakay” program under the Office of the Vice President (OVP): Monday to Tuesday from Lasang to Roxas; Wednesday and Thursday from Toril to Roxas; and Friday and Saturday from Calinan to Roxas.
PHABS started in 2019 to cater to the need for public utility transport for the city’s underserved routes, like Catalunan Grande and Toril District.
