Sen. Go expresses support to VP Sara amid CF ruckus

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go expressed his support to Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte amid the Confidential Funds (CF) ruckus.

Go said despite the various criticisms about the confidential funds, the important thing is, the funds will be used appropriately.

Go said in a statement.

In civilian government agencies, confidential
expenses for surveillance operations are necessary to support the mission or daily operations of the agency.

A total of P221.4 million was released to the OVP, sourced from the contingent funds for 2022 wherein P125 million was intended for OVP’s confidential funds.

During the deliberation, the vice president told senators that the works of the OVP would be easier to accomplish if it will have confidential funds that will guarantee implementation of its projects.

Currently, the vice president is engaging in a word war against female opposition lawmakers like ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro and Senator Risa Hontiveros for questioning the OVP’s use of confidential funds in 2022.

Duterte also expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and to Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo for supporting the OVP.
