Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte will be traveling to Seoul, South Korea today, September 20, 2023, to attend a meeting on education, according to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Tuesday.
OVP said the vice president will attend the Global Education and Innovation Summit (GEIS) upon the invitation of the Republic of Korea government. She will serve as one of the GEIS keynote speakers event that will be held on September 21, 2023.
A student from Danao City in Cebu, who is a member of the You Can Be VP program, will join Duterte and her team.
The summit will gather more than 200 global education leaders, including scholars, ministers, vice ministers, education policymakers and experts, and international organizations officials, to share their experiences and examples of changes in teaching and learning methods.
Among its objectives is to seek educational cooperation at home and abroad and in public-private-school education to preemptively respond to the rapidly changing society by providing a venue to share digital-based educational innovation trends.
