The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported a peaceful first day of ‘Simbang Gabi” in Davao City.
DCPO spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon told the media the assessment is based on the monitoring of different police stations in Davao City, from Stations 1 to 13 and stations 15 to 20.
“The atmosphere is generally peaceful. This tranquility results from the cooperation of the people attending the first day of Simbang Gabi. In times like these, everyone must be cooperative with the guidelines for the safety and security of many. Always be mindful of our actions, submit ourselves for inspections, and we urge people not to bring infants and the elderly with health conditions to avoid risks,” Tuazon said.
Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) spokesperson Captain Catherine dela Rey said on Friday that over 2,700 police personnel, around 800 members of the auxiliary police units, and 1,000 volunteers from different groups will be deployed in various churches in the region starting December 16.
