Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II and barangay Captain Omar Duterte of Buhangin represented their father, Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, in giving Christmas cheers during the grand finals of “Sing-Along ni Pulong” Season 5 at San Pedro Square on Wednesday night.
The brothers took turns giving gifts of Noche Buena packs and rice to the audience who won in the raffle draw.
“Kini ang panahon para makapasalamat sa atong gamhanan na kahitas-an. Hinaut unta tagaan ta tanan sa Ginoo ug maayong panglawas para sa umaabot na tuig. In behalf sa among amahan ni Kapitan Omar, gusto namo magpasalamat sa inyong kanunay na pagsuporta ug gugma sa kang Congressman Pulong ug sa amoang pamilya Duterte. Gusto pud namo ipaabot na ang opisina ni Cong. Pulong ug ako kanunay magpabilin nga suluguon kaninyong tanan,” Rigo said.
Omar shared that their parents make sure that they have a memorable Christmas celebration every December 25th.
“Ang Christmas para sa akoa mao na ang panahon nga sa tibuok tuig sige ug paningkamot, trabaho mao ra na ang oras na mahatag nimo sa inyong pamilya, sa inyong loved ones. Ug sa mga bata mao na ang memories na madala nila, hangtod managko na sila ug maniguwang, mahinumduman nila,” he said.
He also thanked the audience for the support extended to his father, to him, and their family.
Meanwhile, 18 grand finalists battled for the title in two categories.
For the young category, the winners are the following Tiffany Shane Vistal, champion; Stephanie Claire Nique, first runner-up; and Jeric Kevin Ramirez, second runner-up.
For the adult category, the winners are Lorna Querol, champion; Gilda Joy Togonon-Del Rosario, first runner-up; and Shirlyn Hida, second runner-up.
The champions took home cash prize worth P30,000 each; first runner-up P20,000 each; and second runner-up P10,000 each.
A consolation prize of P5,000 each was given to non-winners.
