Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza of the Province of Cotabato joined hands in extending aid to 183 families of Pigcawayanons from 18 barangays affected by the passing whip of Typhoon Paeng in the town of Pigcawayan on Friday.
Through the initiative of Go, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) provided P1.380 million funding, while the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP)” of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. under the National Housing Authority (NHA) will assist impacted families in rebuilding their houses.
Ninety families with partially damaged houses received P5,000 each and 93 families with totally damaged houses received P10,000 each.
“We thanked Sen. Bong Go’s kindness and appreciate his unfailing involvement in the province of Cotabato in any time of need,” Mendoza stressed.
Mendoza said apart from the “Malasakit Centers” provided by Go, he has also been an active partner along with other government agencies, in providing service to Cotabateños.
Meanwhile, board members Sittie Eljorie Antao-Balisi and Roland D. Jungco, together with Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President Karen Michie T. De Guzman reminded the beneficiaries to use the cash assistance according to the purpose of the government.
