Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte brought a special present when he recently had a catch up with his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City.
The lawmaker brought the former president a pack of the latter’s favorite “polvoron” (powdered shortbread) of a popular brand.
So what’s with the polvoron?
It’s an all-time kids favorite. And the former president’s too.
A recent photo of FPRRD eating his fave “polvoron” titillated the netizens and went viral.
The “polvoron” meme started circulating online following an alleged video of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. allegedly using illegal drugs.
Some netizens even made an issue of a video on TikTok of Vice President Sara Duterte giving a student “polvoron” as a reward for earning stars in the classroom.
“Masarap yan, nakaka-addict,” the vice president told the student.
When asked about his comment on the leaked video during the recent press conference with the Davao media, the former president denied the veracity of the leaked video.
“Wala yan. Yang video? I can say, hindi lang lider, maraming mayor dito nag-co-cocaine. There is no such thing. Kasi kung nandiyan pa yan matagal ng lumabas yan (video). Wala yan,” the former president told the media in a press conference at the Grand Men Seng Hotel on January 6, 2024.
