Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte on Tuesday emphasized to the Iranun tribe that in Davao City, respect for each other and no discrimination are being maintained.

Speaking before the residents and members of the Iranun Tribe during the caravan titled “Kulturavan: Seguridad at Kaalaman” held at Gem Village Gym in Ma-a, Davao City, the mayor underscored that the people in the city are united despite having different religious beliefs.

The mayor also stressed that in Davao City, respect for each other is essential.

Duterte urged the public to always approach the city government for their concerns.

Kung makakita mo ug taga gobyerno, duol lang mo mapa-sundalo, pulis, taga barangay, ug unsa pa, CSWDO, Cenro, tanan naka uniporme ug gobyerno,” he said.

He also said that activities like the caravan is among the city government of Davao’s way of bringing the services to the people and to show to the Dabawenyos that they can access its services.

Kami tanan taga gobyerno ug gusto namo ipakita sa inyuha ug makit-an ninyo nga naa mi,” he said.

Duterte also said that it is the obligation and responsibility of the city government of Davao to provide a solution to a problem or situation that causes hardship to the people.

After the program, the mayor entertained the concerns of the residents and the members of the Iranun tribe.

The activity was organized by Task Force Davao (TF Davao) aiming to educate the people about the culture and security of the people.

“The activity aims to address issues and concerns at the same time it is anchored to the program of Task Force Davao, which is the Culture of Security,” said Major John Louie Dema-ala, public information officer of TF Davao.
