Rep. Pulong continues efforts to ensure safety of Dabawenyos

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte continues his office’s efforts to ensure the safety of Dabawenyos and their basic needs provided especially during calamities.

Last week, Rep. Pulong, represented by his son, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, led the distribution of relief assistance to almost 5,000 families who were affected by the flooding in Barangays 19-B, 2-A, 1-A, 10-A, and 9-A through the Pulong Pulong ni Pulong (PPP) program.

Each family received food packs containing five kilos of rice, canned goods, water containers, and other essentials for flood victims.

As per data gathered and submitted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), 16 barangays have been subjected to flooding incidences, and seven barangays for mass wasting occurrences affecting thousands of families and individuals namely Lasang, San Isidro, Bunawan Proper, Brgy. 1-A, Brgy. 2-A, Brgy. 5-A, Brgy. 8-A; Bgry. 9-A; Brgy. 10-A, Brgy. 19-B, Matina Crossing, Maa, Tigatto, Waan, New Carmen, and Tambobong.

It can be recalled that the Davao City Council through the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has placed 23 barangays in Davao City under State of Calamity on February 6, 2024.

Through Resolution No. 01-2024 Series of 2024 or a resolution declaring some barangays in Davao City under a state of calamity due to recent mass flooding and mass wasting incidences brought about by the trough of a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) affecting the Davao Region.

Meanwhile, Rep. Pulong through PPP program also conducted relief operations in the neighboring provinces in Davao Region to ensure the families affected were provided immediate aid.
