
The Sta. Ana Police Station reported that an estimated crowd of 5,000 joined the Parada Dabawenyo, the culminating activity of the 87th Araw ng Dabaw, on Sunday.
The activity was attended by the Duterte siblings, Mayor Sebastian “Baste”, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara, and Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong”.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) led by director Colonel Alberto Lupaz participated the Parada Dabawenyo to ensure the implementation of the security and safety in the said activity.
During the Araw ng Dabaw 2024 activities, a total of 2,621 security personnel were deployed comprising of various police units from DCPO and Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) along with the entire Davao City Security Cluster including the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Task Force Davao, police auxiliaries, City Health Office (CHO), and DCPO Force Multipliers.
Meanwhile, DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon on Monday said that there were zero untoward incidents reported during the staging of the Parada Dabawenyo 2024 and the Hudyaka sa Dabaw on Sunday.
“For the Parada Dabawenyo 2024, generally peaceful wala’y mga untoward incidents nga nareport sa atoang stations- Stations 1, Station 2, Station 3, especially sa Ma-a wala ta’y natala nga reported incident related sa activity kagahapon,” Tuazon said during the Madayaw Dabaw morning program over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR).
Tuazon thanked all Dabawenyos for their cooperation to make the events orderly and peaceful.
The Parada Dabawenyo was attended by a total of 353 contingents from various local and national government offices, 11 ethnolinguistic tribes of Davao City, consulate offices, Persons with Disability (PWDs), barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan, academe, companies, civic organizations, Mutya ng Dabaw winners, mountaineering groups, fraternities, electric bike groups, bicycle groups, motorcycle riders clubs, vehicle clubs, float contingents, and securities forces.
