84 arrested in DCPO’s campaign against illegal drugs this month

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has embarked on a no let-up campaign against illegal drugs in Davao City.

Based on its two-week data covering March 10 to 16, 2024, and March 17 to 23, 2024, DCPO conducted 62 illegal drug operations which led to the arrest of 84 individuals involved in illegal drugs.

Six persons were neutralized during police operations.

Authorities confiscated a total of 155.334 grams of marijuana and 514.91 grams of shabu.

Based also on the data, Sasa Police Station has the highest number of operations conducted with 10 and the highest number of persons arrested with 21.

It can be recalled that on Friday, Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte declared war against illegal drugs in Davao City and told those involved in this illegal activity to leave Davao City.

Less than 24 hours after the mayor declared war against illegal drugs, the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Buhangin Police Station conducted a drug buy-bust operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) that resulted in an armed confrontation and death of a suspect at Ponte, Verde Subdivision, Phase 2, Brgy Communal, Davao City, early morning of Saturday.

The suspect was considered a Top 1 city-level drug personality in Davao City.

On Sunday, two minors were rescued by the personnel of Sta. Ana Police Station after they were caught carrying dried marijuana leaves at a checkpoint along Dacudao corner Del Pilar Streets in Davao City.

On the same day, the joint Task Force Davao (TFD) and DCPO personnel apprehended three individuals possessing shabu while manning the checkpoint in Brgy Lasang, Davao City.

The Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Sta. Ana Police Station, together with the City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the DCPO, conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok San Isidro Labrador, Brgy. Indangan, Davao City, and arrested two individuals for possession of suspected shabu.
