
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) shut down a drug den operating in Isla Verde, Barangay 23-C, Davao City on Thursday.
Together with the National Bureau of Investigation SEMRO 11 (NBI SEMRO 11), Naval Intelligence Security Group (NISG)Eastern Mindanao, and Task Force Davao, PDEA 11 conducted a buy-bust operation at the drug den operated by alias “Wheng”, who was able to elude the arrest after sensing the anti-drug operation.
The teams arrested other suspects namely Normina Pillejera Samad, and drug den visitors Eduardo Arguelles, Junjun Ayao, Ronnel Basaldan, CJ Bulaw, Orlando Gabutero, and Jelel Matuan.
Seized during the operation were 21 transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu in different sizes weighing more or less 40 grams with an estimated value of P272,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust marked and boodle money.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against suspects.
Meanwhile, the PDEA 11 and the personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) also shut down a drug den in Phase 1, Purok San Jose, Martinez Subdivision, Barangay Dahican, Mati City, Davao Oriental on April 8, 2024.
Agents of Davao Oriental Provincial Office of PDEA 11 together with Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office and Mati City Police Station, conducted a buy-bust operation and dismantled a drug den operated by Kinji Esteban Sibayan.
Sibayan was arrested and one piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 was confiscated in his possession.
Archie Gandeza, caretaker of the drug den, and a visitor Cerilo Naive were also arrested by the operatives.
Seized during the operation were two pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachets with suspected shabu weighing 11 grams with an estimated value of P74,800, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust marked money.
