Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte of the First Congressional District provided financial aid and relief assistance to more than 100 families affected by two different fire incidents in Davao City.
Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, representing his father, led the distribution of assistance to affected families in Purok 25 and 26 Muslim Village and Purok 4 Seawall Bucana, all within Barangay 76-A on Tuesday.
Rep. Pulong’s team also distributed relief packs, containers, bottled water, and cash through the PPP program to 50 house owners, 23 sharers, 17 renters, 44 boarders, and two caretakers.
The team also served 500 hot porridges (lugaw) and provides a packed lunch for the next five days, which started on Tuesday until Sunday, April 14.
Rigo expressed gratitude for the people’s unwavering support of his father and the Duterte family. He also affirmed their family’s commitment to delivering prompt assistance to families affected by calamities and disasters.
Meanwhile, Barangay 76-A chairman Robert Olan-olan expressed his gratitude for the support provided to the fire victims.
The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (DCSWDO) estimated the damage costs at P1.78 million from the Muslim Village and P2.53 million from the Bucana fire incidents.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao (BFP–Davao) reported two distinct fire incidents on April 7, 2024. The first incident started at Purok 26, and the second incident was at Purok 4.
The BFP-Davao said that around 474 individuals were affected by these fire incidents.
The fire victims are temporarily housed at a nearby covered court of the affected areas.
