Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte emerged as the top choice among presidentables in 2028 in a survey which was released on Friday, for the first quarter of 2024 conducted by Oculum Research and Analytics.
According to the nationwide survey composed of 3,000 respondents aged 18 and up, and who were randomly picked, 42 percent favored Duterte.

Duterte also garnered much more support than Senator Raffy Tulfo, who received 17 percent. The vice president and Tulfo were statistically tied among potential candidates for presidency in the latest Pulse’s Asia survey
Came in third is former vice president Leni Robredo who got 10 percent.

Joseph Mercado, Oculum chief statistician, said Duterte commands a significant proportion of the vote at 42 percent, placing her firmly at the top regarding public preference.

He also said this percentage indicates a substantial lead over other candidates and suggests a strong support base.

Given the margin of error of ± 2 percentage points, according to the survey, tied for fourth to sixth places were former Manila mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Imee Marcos, and former senator Manny Pacquiao, while Sen. Robin Padilla was in seventh place with just 2 percent support, and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ranked eighth with 0.4 percent.

The survey was conducted by Oculum Research and Analytics in partnership with the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators Inc.(APCoRE), a professional organization of academics and researchers, Areopagus Communications Inc., and PressOne.PH, a verified signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network.

As of this writing, the vice president has not yet given a statement on the survey.
