The “clean up” is not over.
In line with the ongoing internal investigation on the death of seven suspected drug personalities during police operations last March, 34 more police officers of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) were relieved from their posts
In a special order released on May 24, 2024 by the command of Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) director Brigadier General Aligre Martinez, 11 station commanders and their deputies and 23 police non-commissioned officers were removed from their duties effective May 22, 2024.
The officers that were relieved are: Lt. Col. Ronald Lao, Major Rosario Aguilar, Major Jimmy Evangelista, Major Jemuel Mamolang, Major Joenel Pederio, Major Noel Villahermosa, Captain Medardo Baleros Jr, Captain Ronnie Batingal, Captain Henry Calvo, Captain Marlon Donquilab and Captain Jefferson Escasinas.
PRO 11 spokesperson Major Catherine dela Rey told Edge Davao that PRO 11 is deploying OICs to the police stations of the relieved station commanders.
“Sa mga stations na na-relieve ang station commanders naay gitalaga nga officer-in-charge. Wala sila gipulihan ug laing station commanders while ongoing ang investigation,” dela Rey said in a phone interview.
It can be recalled that DCPO director Col. Richard Bad-ang was the first to be relieved from his post on Thursday for the same investigation that is being conducted by the Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS).
All relieved officers are currently reassigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (RPHAS) in PRO 11 headquarters.
