Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte embodies the saying that a big brother is always there for his sister.
Rep. Pulong shared a birthday message online to his sister Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, with a heartfelt phrase: “Sa guwapa, pinakasikat, ug kinakusgan nakong igsu-on (to my beautiful, most famous, and strongest sibling).”
Rep. Pulong penned that in all the trials they have faced these days, he urged his sister to continue to be strong in her principles.
“Sa tanan natong gisagubang nga pagsulay karong mga panahona, magpadayon kitang magmalig-on sa atong prinsipyo ug atong pagsalig sa Ginoo. Ayaw hikalimti nga kanunay kaming naa sa imong likod nga susuporta ug mualalay kanimo,” he said.
He wished his sister to always be happy and not to neglect herself.
Along with his birthday message, Rep. Pulong also shared a photo of the vice president holding a cake in what appeared like she had just undergone surgery because of a plaster on her neck.
“Magmalipayon ka kanunay ug ayaw pud intawon pasagdi ang imong kaugalingon. Get well soon Day and we love you,” Rep. Pulong said.
Meanwhile, the vice president was overwhelmed with the birthday messages she received.
“Ako po ay nagagalak na marinig ang inyong mga maligayang pagbati sa aking kaarawan mula sa Office of the Vice President – Satellite Offices. Ipagpatuloy po natin ang ating tapat at tunay na serbisyo sa bayan at tayo ang isa sa mga inaasahan upang maging kaagapay ng mga nangangailangan ng tulong nating mga kababayan. Daghang salamat sa inyong padayon nga suporta ug pagmahal. Shukran,” the vice president said.
