Six drug personalities were apprehended in the anti-illegal drug operations conducted by various police stations under the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) in a span of 24 hours.
Covering the period of 6 a.m. of June 16, 2024 to 6 a.m. of June 17, 2024, police operatives conducted five anti-illegal drug operations resulting in the apprehension the six drug personalities and confiscation of suspected shabu with a standard value price of P32,512.84.
San Pedro Police Station confiscated shabu with an estimated standard drug price (SDP) of P6,120; Talomo Police Station confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated SDP of P748; Calinan Police Station confiscated dried marijuana leaves worth P342; Mandug Police Station confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P2,040; and Bajada Police Station confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P4,224.84.
“DCPO acknowledges and appreciates the support of the barangay officials, the community, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) in joining this campaign. Illegal drugs are significant factor contributing to crime in various areas,” DCPO said in a statement.
DCPO vowed that its team will not cease conducting operations against illegal drugs, which is among its four-focused directives, to provide a safer place for all Dabawenyos.
Meanwhile, DCPO also reported its accomplishments on the other three of the four-focused directives covering the period from June 9, 2024, to June 15, 2024.
DCPO’s efforts against illegal gambling yielded significant results, with 17 gamblers arrested in seven operations, and confiscated P2,281 in bet money.
In pursuing wanted persons, the DCPO conducted 31 operations resulting in the arrest of six most wanted persons and 27 others.
DCPO also conducted operations targeting loose firearms which led to the arrest of five individuals, the confiscation of five firearms, and one voluntarily surrendered firearms.
In total, DCPO apprehended 55 individuals, showcasing its commitment to intensifying the campaign against all forms of criminal activity in the city.
DCPO emphasized that these showed its adherence to Police Operational Procedures (POP), upholding the rule of law, and respecting human rights.
It also ensured that peace and order remain the top priority for the security and safety of all Dabawenyos.
“Rest assured that the DCPO will continue to conduct operations to bring individuals involved in illegal activities to justice. The active cooperation and support of the barangay officials, the community, and the LGU are crucial factors in the successful operations and accomplishments of the DCPO team,” it said.
